GDAS and Sunwah Group signs Framework Agreement for Strategic Cooperation

  On December 16th, GDAS and Sunwah Group (Hong Kong) signed a framework agreement for strategic cooperation in Guangzhou, looking to foster all-round and multi-field cooperation in technology and innovation, so as to promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Center of Technology and Innovation and the Guangdong-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Technology and Innovation Corridor.

  Before the signing ceremony, Dr. CHOI Jonathan Koon-shum, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of Sunwah Group, was shown around by LIAO Bing, Secretary of the Party committee and President of GDAS, to the Bacteria Preservation Center, Fungal Herbarium, and South China Key Laboratory of Applied Microbiology under the GDAS Institute of Microbiology. Academician WU Qingping gave an introduction to the institute in terms of research areas, major research achievements, and technology commercialization.

  At the GDAS exhibition hall, LIAO talked about the history, structure, branches, personnel, platforms, and achievements of the academy, and how it has proactively participated in the International Center of Technology and Innovation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay area as well as the Belt and Road. At the meeting, CHOI introduced Sunwah group and shared its cooperation in technology with countries along the Belt and Road and its engagement and future plan in the Greater Bay Area. He hoped that the two sides would work together to make contributions to the Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road initiative.

  According to the agreement, both sides will put together their strengths (innovation and expertise of GDAS, industry connection and capital management of Sunwah) for collaborative innovation in: frontier and key technologies, the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Demonstration Zone, the construction of platforms for agricultural biology and “the great health”, the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship institutions for science and technology professionals from Hong Kong and Macao, and also finance for science and technology.

  The agreement was signed by representatives of the two sides: LI Dingqiang , Vice President of GDAS, and CAI Junsi, Executive Director of Sunwah Group and President of Sunwah Technology. The ceremony was witnesed by YAN Guorong, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of GDAS; ZHOU zhouyu, Vice Presidents of GDAS; and CHOI Jonathan Koon-shum, CAI Jiesi, Chairman Assistant of Sunwah Group, and MENG Lin, Executive President of Sunwah Technology.

  Attending the event were also ZHANG Tiejun, Chief Representative of Sunwah Group in South China, LIU Lei, Vice President of Sunwah Technology, WANG Hongmao, General Manager of Goldfull Fund Management, TIAN Qing, Executive General Manager of Goldfull in Wuxi, and heads of GDAS Dept. for International Cooperation, General Office, Dept. for Development Planning and Legal Affairs, Dept. for Scientific Research Management, and Dept. for Market Development.
