The China-Ukraine E.O. Paton Institute of Welding, supported by the MOST and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, is jointly established by E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality and the Guangdong Academy of Sciences. As a demonstration platform of innovation cooperation mode for international scientific and technological in China, the institute makes every effort to build an international talent and technology highland with high-level international cooperation of science and technology, strong industrial support and wide cooperation fields, and explore the transformation and industrialization of international scientific and technological achievements. Devoting to build a world-class, domestic-leading, high-level institute with scientific and technological innovation incubator, the institute also strives to become the Chinese headquarter and R&D base of the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and a platform for scientific and technological innovation and security which meets the needs of China and Ukraine. The China-Ukraine E.O. Paton Institute of Welding construction project has been inscribed on the bilateral cooperation framework agreement between China and Ukraine, which has been praised as "the model of China-Ukraine scientific and technological cooperation".
