China-Ukraine “Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory on Material Joining and Advanced Manufacturing was jointly established by the China-Ukraine Institute of Welding, Guangdong Academy of Sciences, as the supporting unit, Harbin Institute of Technology and E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as the participating institutions. On the background of China-Ukraine international science and technology cooperation, the joint laboratory, aimed at the major demands in the field of material joining and advanced manufacturing between both countries, cooperated with state key laboratory on material joining and advanced manufacturing of Harbin Institute of Technology and E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to jointly to achieve breakthroughs in major scientific and technological research of aerospace, marine engineering, energy, transportation and other applications sectors of major scientific and technological research. They also focus on cutting-edge science and technology, carry out basic research and scientific theoretical innovation in material joining and advanced manufacturing, and promote the application of cooperation achievements in major engineering construction about the" Belt and Road". The China-Ukraine Joint Laboratory on Welding will further promote international exchange and cooperation to become an important platform for sharing scientific and technological achievements and development experience of scientific and technological innovation among China, Ukraine and other friendly countries of the “Belt and Road Initiative”
